Finding an Error on your Credit Report
Consumers must know that even the smallest error on their credit can make them ineligible for financing, new housing, and even employment with companies who perform credit checks on applicants. These errors can include: address, name, social security number, account history, and more. Identity theft and fraudulent activity will show up on your credit report as well, which is why monitoring is recommended to protect your credit. Disputing a credit Report Error

In addition, contact any creditors who may be affected by this possible fraudulent activity. There is a universal form letter that you can submit to the three top credit bureaus - Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion - and you will also need to attach any supporting
documentation. Required documents include:
State-Issued Drivers License -To prove your identity, including name and address. Social Security Card -To prove your social security number is reported.
Proof of Address - A current utility bill of other piece of mail to support our claim.
Resolving a Disputed Item
It will take some time once your dispute request is received by the bureaus but you will receive a letter stating their findings and resolutions. If they find in your favor, your credit report will be immediately adjusted and your new credit score will reflect the changes. Vivix Credit Solutions recommends disputing items even if you are not sure they will be removed as there is no penalty for a denial of the disputed item. Having these errors resolved will improve your credit and make it easier to receive the financing you need, when you need it.
